Hollywood A-Listers Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie hired an entire Virgin train last week to transport their family to Glasgow from London.
The actors were seen boarding their hired Virgin train with their entire family including their six children at London’s Euston Station. The group were travelling to Scotland where Brad is currently filming his new movie, a zombie thriller entitled World War Z. It’s believed the couple and their brood will stay at a 5 star Ayrshire estate while Brad completes filming on his new film.
Virgin Trains confirmed that their trains are made available for private hire, however they wouldn’t discuss the details of specific customers. Despite this, some press reports suggest the couple would have forked out as much as £40,000 to hire the train for their private trip from London to Scotland.
According to one newspaper report, the idea of hiring a train to transport the Pitt/Jolie brood to Scotland came about as a result of a trip to the cinema. Angelina is thought to have taken the couple’s children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox to the cinema to see the latest Harry Potter film and the children were so captivated by the train in the movie, The Hogwarts Express, that the celebrity couple decided to treat their youngsters to a ride in their very own version of the movie train.
At a cost of £40,000 a trip, we doubt many other parents will be queuing up to hire a train over the summer holidays.
