Car hire firm invests in new minibus shuttle service at Heathrow

Top car hire company, Thrifty Car and Van Rental, have invested in a pair of Mercedes Benz shuttle buses to provide customers with transport between the airport terminal at Heathrow, and the vehicle collection point.

The Sprinter Mercedes Benz vans were transformed into 8-seater minibuses with large luggage compartments by EVM in Ireland earlier this year. The buses have also been branded with the company name and logo over the sides and windows of the vehicle. The windows appear opaque from the outside, however they are transparent from inside the vehicle allowing passengers to look out of the windows as they travel.

The decision to invest in new minibus vehicle for the shuttle service at Heathrow international Airport was made after the car hire firm reported a year-on-year growth at the airport of 25%.

Car rental firm, Thrifty, say that the decision to provide their car hire customers with a comfortable chauffeur driven ride from the airport to the vehicle collection point is part of their commitment to provide a superior standard of customer service at Heathrow Airport.

The new Mercedes Benz buses replace two older models previously in use at the airport. The car rental firm say the former buses were extremely reliable, and so opted for the same model to replace the older minibuses.
