This year marks a double celebration for Yorkshire’s largest independent vehicle hire company. Arrow Self Drive is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary later this year and this month marks ten years since the opening of their Barnsley depot.
Boasting more than 2,000 vehicles and 80 staff across Yorkshire, Arrow Self Drive have come a long way from their humble beginnings in Huddersfield in 1988. The firm, founded by businessmen Robert Hill and Chris Taylor, now has eight regional depots across Yorkshire, including its original Huddersfield branch.
Manager set for personal milestone
The Barnsley depot manager, Louise Ramsbottom, is celebrating a milestone of her own this month. Having joined the firm in September 2007 as a Wakefield-based part-time rental assistant, Ramsbottom, has run the Barnsley depot since it opened in April 2008. Now, Louise has been in charge for a decade.
Louise Ramsbottom explained:
“Over the years we have won and retained a fantastic portfolio of customers, mostly from the business community. We keep it very local here at Arrow Self Drive, my team are all from the local area, I am a Barnsley girl myself, even our directors are from Barnsley, and we have excellent relationships with our many loyal customers from the local area.”
“Ten years has flown by. I hope that the next ten years is as enjoyable and that we can continue to deliver excellent service with a straight forward Yorkshire approach well into the future.”
Arrow Self Drive’s Managing Director, James Hill, added:
