Dutch rental firm, Boels Rental, has this week made its second UK acquisition, purchasing Already Hire for an undisclosed sum. Already Hire is one of the UK’s leading plant, tool and powered access supplier, boasting four locations in Slough, Heathrow, Dartford and London City.
Having faced a series of profit struggles, Already Hire experienced a huge 65% decrease in operating profit. Dropping to £180,000 on a turnover of £6m, Boels Rental still saw potential in the business. Having made a series of acquisitions in recent months, Already Hire joins Delta Rentm Amdyte, Abird and Supply UK Hire on the list of businesses now owned by the Dutch firm.
Wanting to expand its presence and offering to customers, the business now enjoys touch-points in the Netherlands, the UK and the rest of the world. Following these new deals, the business now boast the title of the largest company in its space. With 400 branches, 3500 employees and bases in 17 countries, the business successfully turned over €445m in 2017. With further expansion into London, we can expect to see more and more of Boels Rental in the coming years.
“We are delighted with being able to realize these acquisitions” said Pierre Boels, Boels Rental’s Chief Executive Officer.
“They reinforce our business strategy of offering our customers a single counter for all their needs. In addition to the largest network for general rental, we now offer a rapidly growing number of professional specializations. With this latest move, we are responding to the needs of our customers, who increasingly opt for outsourcing. They do this because it is more efficient, but also because hiring is more sustainable than ownership. Thanks to the one-stop shopping principle we are pursuing, we can offer them optimal service, giving us an important competitive edge in the market.”
