A father from Essex decided to push the boat out for his daughter’s prom day and organised for a Cinderella style horse drawn carriage to transport the 16-year-old to her big end of school event in Harwich.
Michael Chandler said his daughter, Jasmine, had spotted the eye-catching fairytale carriage in a magazine over a year ago and had fallen in love with it. The carriage had been in high demand for school proms and weddings after it was catapulted into the public eye after Katie Price and Peter Andre hired the same horse drawn carriage for their wedding.
Jasmine said he was determined to do something special for his daughter to say congratulations for finishing her school education. Initially Mr Chandler said he’d attempted to hire a helicopter to fly his daughter to the prom, but unfortunately, was unable to get permission to land the aircraft close to Harwich School Prom.
Luckily Jasmine’s dad managed to track down the same Cinderella style carriage she’d seen advertised after spending over 18 hours on the phone ringing around different companies. However the cost to hire the famous carriage for a whole day came to £20,000, so instead the caring father decided to opt for just an hour’s hire at a cost of £450.
