As we have reported here at Anything for Hire, car hire group, Avis, are going to great lengths to dominate their market globally. However, with so many competitors operating in their space, they have inevitably experienced a few bumps in the road.
However, according to sources, Avis is making some real waves in New Zealand; a country that like Britain, values honest and reliable car hire firms. Just last week, Avis was named Best Rental Car Operator, winning this prestigious title at the TAANZ National Travel Industry Awards. Signalling their attention to customer care, the brand was thrilled with the win, and rightly so!
Beating the likes of Hertz Zealand Ltd, Driveaway Holidays and other big firms to the post, Avis believe their win to be down to their recent efforts, going above and beyond to improve their services across the board.
Ian Jones, Commercial Director, Pacific at Avis Budget Group, said the following after the ceremony at the Sky City Convention Centre on Saturday 8th September.
“We are truly delighted to be awarded New Zealand’s best car rental operator and are grateful that our contribution to the industry has been supported and recognised by our peers.
“As a company we are continually looking to innovate, grow and review the car rental experience for our customers. This award acknowledges we’re on the right path and will serve as great motivation as we move forward to provide more mobility solutions in the future.”
A modern car hire brand
Understanding the need to invest in new technology in order to compete with Hertz, Enterprise Rent a Car and the likes, Avis has recently joined the Internet of Things Consortium, ensuring they are at the helm of any technological developments within their forever-in-development industry.
Let us know your thought; are Avis on the road to become the world’s most sought-after car hire firm?
