With many car hire businesses venturing into the world of fleet hire, the UK’s biggest brands are competing for top market talent. This week, Europcar UK appointed a new Fleet Director; promoting internally to build out their forever-growing management team. The former Head of Fleet Procurement, Bob Maclachlan, will now take the helm of the fleet hire division, defining and implementing a strategy that aims to outshine competition.
Having been in the business for over five years, assuming the role of Fleet Director was a logical next step for Maclachlan. Talking on his promotion, he said:
“I aim to ensure that Europcar continues to offer a wide choice of vehicles, with the flexibility travellers need”.
Driving forward Europcar’s vision to be a more eco-friendly brand, Machlachlan will action further investment in city and hybrid vehicles. However, it is not just the vehicles themselves he will be keeping an eye on.
“As well as investing in hybrid and electric vehicles, I will be focusing on the streamlining the end of rental process to provide a better customer experience” he continues.
Focusing on both business and leisure customers, the Europcar UK team are incredibly confident in his ability to build a world-leading fleet division.
The company’s Managing Director, Gary Smith, was equally as please to see Maclachlan take the promotion.
“Bob has extensive expertise of the fleet market, with five years at Europcar and a successful career at Vauxhall before that. This background makes him the ideal person to take the lead for the fleet team. This appointment forms a key part of Europcar UK’s growth and development strategy, as we continue to deliver the best mobility solutions, balancing cost, choice and convenience at every stage” he said.
We at Anythingforhire.com would like to say a big congratulations to Bob and wish him all the luck in his new role.
