Berlin-based hire firm, Campanda, have successfully secured €10 million in Series B funding, having grown the business substantially since its seed funding round last year. As a online marketplace for Recreational Vehicles such as motorhomes, caravans and campervans, the firm was founded back in 2013, naturally growing to now employ 45 people and boast an incredible 26,250 vehicles on their books.
Leading the round is Michelin Travel Partner, the subsidiary of tyre manufacturer Michelin. After being involved in the initial capital raise, the company have obviously increased in value, attracting such high-profile investors to revisit their case.
“It fills us with pride that, with Michelin, we have found a further renowned investor for Campanda,” says Chris Möller, founder and CEO of Campanda in a statement.
“Just like our existing investors, Michelin shares our understanding of travel in the 21st century: to plan and book online while also sustainably harnessing existing rental resources.”
With the money on its way, the business plan to use the funds carefully, wanting to ass new geographical markets to the business, increase the supply-side and bring a host of new brains into the office.
Providing something different in the industry, their incredibly forward-thinking website permits users to compare prices for hire, select a location, vehicle amenities, as well as book the chosen motorhome, campervan or caravan/trailer online. The marketplace is launched in 44 countries and six languages, with plans to substantially increase these number in 2017.
