With all of the organising and planning behind you, your wedding day should be a time to relax and enjoy the celebration with family and friends. However, with so many last minute panics and problems, that’s sadly often not the case.

While we can’t do much about drunken uncles or crying bridesmaids, we can help you with one thing - how to ensure that your travel runs smoothly on your wedding day.
If you want to make sure your travel plans pan out exactly as you want them to, it’s important to book well in advance. Leaving it until the last minute could see you saddled with an inferior vehicle or less space than you would have liked, so book early to ensure that everything is in place.
Does everyone in your wedding party need to travel in the wedding cars? Or would it be easier to book an alternative form of transport for some people? Remember, if you have multiple cars all parked outside an address with lots of people trying to climb in, take photos and organise themselves, you might easily create a stressful situation. Instead, why not send some people ahead in taxis and save the wedding car for a select few? It will cause a lot less hassle on the day.
Will you want champagne to enjoy en route to your wedding? What song do you want playing during the journey? Do you want the driver to hang around so that the car can be in your photographs? While all these might seem like minor details in the grand scheme of things, giving them consideration in advance will mean less to do on the day.
Your bridesmaids and groomsmen are there to help make things easier - so don’t be afraid to ask them for assistance. With regards to travel, why not ask them to be in charge of the wedding cars, and making sure that everyone gets into the right vehicles on time? Armed with a passenger list and contact numbers for the whole party, helpers can make a formidable weapon in the fight against wedding day stress!
