The first step is to measure up. Obviously, if you’re moving house, you won’t want to measure each individual lamp and shoebox. But by measuring the larger, bulkier items, you can get a clear idea of the sort of loading space that you’ll need. And if you just need a van to shift a couple of pieces of furniture, getting those dimensions down should allow you to make the right choice.
Finally, don’t forget about ‘payload’ - the weight limit that a vehicle can legally carry. Usually, as long as your items fit within the loading space you should be OK, but if you’re carrying anything especially heavy it’s worth taking note of its weight.
