The Queen to trial venue hire at Scottish palace

The Queen will run a pilot scheme over the coming months offering her official Scottish residence, Holyrood Palace, for hire for corporate and private events.

Holyrood Palace will be made available for hire for corporate events and for hire by organisations to host receptions and celebrations as part of a pilot project to experiment with offering Royal residences for hire.

For the very first time, the Scottish palace will be available for use for non royal events including corporate and business functions. The plans to offer Holyrood Palace for hire will be finalised within the coming months. If the pilot project is deemed a success, other royal residencies could become available for venue hire as well as the Edinburgh palace.

The palace will offer champagne receptions, canapés, and fork buffets as part of its venue hire service if required. More details are due to be revealed within the coming months.

As part of the guidelines for hire, any prospective organisations looking to hire Holyrood Palace have been told that they must book a guided tour of the palace or the art gallery at the time of confirming hire of the venue.
