A wedding Mandap is a mandap temporarily erected for the purpose of a Hindu or Jain wedding. The main wedding ceremonies take place under the mandap. It is traditionally made of wood, although now modern materials are sometimes used (source: Wikipedia).

The bride receives gifts from her maternal uncle which consists of clothes, jewellery and other gifts items including the traditional paanetar (silk saree - usually white with red border) and choodo (ivory bangle). The mameru ceremony takes place one day before the wedding.
